Introduction

Becov nad Teplou is located in the West Bohemia in the middle of spa triangle Karlovy Vary - Marianske Lazne - Frantiskovy Lazne.

History in brief

The castle Becov nad Teplou was founded in the 13th century by a noble family from Osek. In the 15th and 16th century the castle was developing very rapidly when it belonged the noble family Pluhove z Rabstejna. High on the rock there is the Gothic castle which was enhanced by Renaissance stone portals and wall paintings. The castle courtyard is surrounded by Pluhove's houses and stables.

Under the castle there is a chateau from the 18th century with Renaissance core and terraced gardens. The chateau underwent a thorough reconstruction between the 1970's and 1991.

Sights

The most precious piece is the unique reliquary of St. Moor from the 12th century which was found in the chapel in 1985.
